Chugging along..
Chugging along..
Above is Tom bagging the chainplate backing bracket mold. To the left they are bagged and shot.
Debagged, there’s still peelply to clean off and trimming to do.
All cleaned up and trimmed. These go on the sides of the hull and butt up against the deck under the cabinets. The shroud U-Bolts attach through the tops, using them to spread the shroud loads through the hull.
Keel spar being drystacked. This one is tough to do without bridging.
And being shot..
Gavin getting the compression post mold ready for gelcoat. You can see the cutting template and the glass kit ready to install.
There’s two interlocking kinds of glass shapes. This is so that every seam is covered and, as little as possible is overbuilt in lumps. The different layers of glass fold in in different ways.
The drystack starting to be installed. The laminate schedule is full thickness at the aft end and tapers down to the bow end.
All loaded up and ready to bag.
Ice chest top mold gel coated, white and clear, and ready for dry stacking.
Ice chest wood pack all ready.. I though I had a picture of them shooting this, but I guess I don’t.
We do have a shot of the finished lid..
And rudders. These take a lot of man hours to build. We have to build four of them because we received two more B/25 replacement rudder orders in the last week or so. Seeing that people are wanting them we put them ahead in the schedule. We’re hoping to shave off some time by making all of them at one time.
Why do B/25 folk like our rudders? Here’s why. Kent is holding the original B/25 rudder. Mounted on his boat is one of our Dart rudders.
